چکیده
Abstract Sago starch has multiple applications in industries such as textile, cosmetics and pharmaceutical, paper wood. This study focuses on the utilization of sago to promote formaldehyde-free adhesives. Formaldehyde-based adhesive commonly used wood industry emits formaldehyde, which is classified carcinogen, into air that raised concerns over potential hazards human health. starch-based was produced by blending with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) glycerine. Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) characterize chemical changes adhesive. The quality tested according their viscosity. mechanical property analyze based lap shear (bond) strength adhesives ASTM D907 D143 using Model D350 Testomeric. Parameters affecting viscosity starch-adhesive time, temperature, concentration hydroxide, amount glycerine were studied. decreased mixing NaOH increased.

Optimization of cyclodextrin production from sago starch.
Cyclodextrin (CD) is synthesized by bacterial cyclodextrin glycosyltransferase (CGTase) and is widely used in food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and agricultural industries. In this study, Bacillus circulans CGTase was partially purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation at 50-70% saturation. The optimum pH and temperature for CD production from sago starch were found to be in the ranges of 4.5-5....
متن کاملNanostructures Derived from Starch and Chitosan for Fluorescence Bio-Imaging
Fluorescent nanostructures (NSs) derived from polysaccharides have drawn great attention as novel fluorescent probes for potential bio-imaging applications. Herein, we reported a facile alkali-assisted hydrothermal method to fabricate polysaccharide NSs using starch and chitosan as raw materials. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) demonstrated that the average particle sizes are 14 nm and 7...
متن کاملCharacterization of a new biodegradable edible film based on Sago Starch loaded with Carboxymethyl Cellulose nanoparticles
Objective(s): Biodegradable film is widely used because it is free from synthetic substances and does not lead to environment pollution. This study aimed to prepare and characterize biodegradable sago starch films loaded with Carboxymethyl Cellulose nanoparticles. Methods: Sago starch films were prepared and plasticized with sorbitol/ glycerol by t...

This study is an attempt to describe the terminology of Metroxylon sago among the Melanau community in Mukah, Sarawak (Malaysia). The paper is divided into three main sections: the research method, introduction to the Melanau and their language, and the description of sago terms. The research results reported here are based on data collected in a qualitative research project, featuring face to ...
متن کاملPreparation and Partial Characterization of Composite Films Containing Soya Protein and Sago Starch
The aim of the present study is to develop a novel biomaterial from natural resources which can be used for various biomedical applications. In this work, composite films containing soya protein (SY) and sago starch (SG) were prepared by solvent casting methodology; these films were cross linked with glutaraldehyde to improve their mechanical properties. The films prepared were characterized fo...
